Community--Building Spiritual Friendships
The family of Cornerstone wants to deepen our sense of community with one another, but we want relationships to be authentic, not merely programmed. So we create some basic formats and ask you to find something that works for you. Get creative. Put yourselves in places where you can grow in your trust and dependence on others, grow in your spiritual maturity, and be equipped for serving God.Community GroupsCommunity groups are the best way to get to know others like you, and to consistently grow in your walk with Jesus. Right now groups of 8-15 adults meet during the week and weekends, during the daytime or evenings. With several quality groups meeting, chances are that one will be a perfect fit for you. Contact the church office (360-697-3777) for more information. |

| We're already planning for another "Connections" series coming up in October. Connections are where we ask people to gather in groups for a four-week community group series that flows out of Sunday morning series. Please consider being a part of one of our groups. For those already meeting in community groups, consider the following tips for your groups: 1. Focus on Community. Remember how difficult yet important it is to build relationships in the body of Christ. 2. Take planned breaks. Don't just meet weekly until everyone dies; plan to take regular breaks, (once a month, for example). This will help you sustain the group over the long haul. 3. Find a mission. Great community is rooted in mission. When a team works together to accomplish something significant, the chemistry of the team improves. So plan to clean a park or adopt a neighborhood; pool your resources to serve others. |
